Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif approved Punjab Livestock Card project which will grant rupees 2.5 lakh interest-free loan for the animal feed.
The registration process for the Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif Livestock Card has begun, with the scheme aimed at benefiting 80,000 farmers across Punjab. Through this initiative, eligible farmers will be able to purchase essential livestock supplies such as cattle feed, mineral mixtures, and silage from authorized dealers using the card.
Cattle farmers in Punjab will be eligible for an interest-free loan of Rs 27,000 per animal, with a maximum loan amount of up to Rs 270,000.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif stated that the loan will be disbursed in installments, with distribution set to begin in four months.
Farmers can register for the Livestock Card either by visiting their nearest veterinary hospital or by sending the required details via text to 8070. A dedicated helpline has also been established to assist applicants.
“All efforts are being made to ensure the economic empowerment of farmers in Punjab’s rural areas,” the Chief Minister said. “We are committed to fully supporting the farmers and livestock producers of Punjab as we embark on this development journey, ensuring everyone becomes a stakeholder in this progress.”
